About Me
I received my BS in Elementary Education and Psychology and my MSW in Boston and have been working in the field of mental health for decades.
I began my career as a children's crisis therapist in Florida, treating at risk youth and their families. Next, I moved to NYC to be an adoptions social worker, where I worked with birthmothers, experiencing unplanned pregnancies, couples with infertility and families created through adoption!
After moving to Los Angeles, I worked as an impatient eating disorder therapist at both the Radar Institute, based on a twelve step recovery model and Monte Nido, utilizing a behavioral model.
For the past twenty years I have worked as a supervisor and clinician in private practice and have trained in: Sex and Love Addiction, Narrative Therapy, EMDR, Dialectal Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Group Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Acceptance Commitment Therapy. I also did online trainings in Somatic therapy with Peter Levine and Couples therapy with Esther Perel
Today, I proudly work side by side with Lea Roussos, LMFT as a Co-Clinical Director at Santa Monica Counseling with a great team! I am very grateful for the varied and excellent training in my background as it all comes into play with my "one size does not fit all" therapy style.
Additionally, I am a Meisner and Groundling trained actor/voice over actor, so I have an understanding of artists and am a big believer in the power of creativity in healing, health and happiness. Additionally, I just published my first book, Here's the Memo!
